TONY WALFORD - PARTNER
TONY WALFORD - PARTNER

Tony brings a wealth of experience from within the marketing communications sector, not only across mergers & acquisitions, but also in a strategic advisory capacity. He has led transactions across many marcomms disciplines including digital PR, corporate comms, branding, experiential, research, sponsorship and healthcare advertising. He has also advised many agencies on growth strategy and preparing for sale.

Having started his career in investment banking with Midland Group and HSBC, he subsequently became CFO of the US tech company Unisys’s largest UK discipline. He moved into marketing services in 1997, leading a 3i-backed MBO and merging CLK and Michael Peters to form the leading independent design and communications agency, Corporate Edge. He further augmented the business with a number of strategic acquisitions prior to selling the company to an Australian listed marketing communications group in 2007, realising an 11x return for investors.

Tony is a Chartered Management Accountant and Chartered Corporate Treasurer. He founded the multi-award winning M&A boutique Green Square in 2008.

ANDREW MOSS - PARTNER
ANDREW MOSS - PARTNER

Andrew qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant at HSBC, holding a key role in the Capital Financing team. He joined Credit Suisse in 1996 initially as FD of Operations and IT services, subsequently moving to Zurich as head of finance for the Investment Banking arm.

Andrew subsequently held a number of CFO roles, with experience not only in marketing services but also across software, retail and manufacturing. A mergers & acquisition and business planning specialist, he has undertaken change programmes expanding, restructuring and exiting businesses.

Andrew joining Green Square restores his working partnership with Tony Walford when they were both at HSBC and brings a wealth of practical and strategic input in advising and executing transactions.

BARRY DUDLEY - PARTNER
BARRY DUDLEY - PARTNER

Barry has 20 years experience within the marketing services sector, including nine years as Group COO at Naked Communications where he established offices across the globe prior to managing its sale to Australian listed marcoms group, Photon. 

He subsequently became COO of Photon’s International Agency Division, establishing further operations in Sweden, Germany, India, Singapore and the Middle East. He also divested and merged various Photon businesses. Barry is an FCA having spent time with Kingston Smith, Andersen and Deloitte.

His days in professional practice afforded him great experience across assurance services, due diligence and post-merger integration for clients including WPP, Omnicom and Sky. Barry has advised across a range of enterprise values from small design agencies to a £1bn telco transaction.

ROB DICKSON - US PARTNER
ROB DICKSON - US PARTNER
Rob has over 30 years experience in M&A, including over 15 years of dedicated M&A and business management experience in the Marketing and Digital fields. As a Managing Director at MDC Partners (2000-2011) he was instrumental in transforming the business into the 7th largest advertising holding company, leading numerous acquisitions including its most famous brands, such as: 72&Sunny, Anomaly, Crispin Porter & Bogusky and Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal + Partners. As Principal in Rob Dickson Consulting (2011-2015), Rob acted as a strategic advisor in the digital and ad tech space. He is also an advisor to, and investor in, numerous ad tech companies including Engagement Labs, Revenue.com and Visibl. 
DONNA GRANATO - US PARTNER
DONNA GRANATO - US PARTNER
Donna brings over 20 years of experience in M&A, corporate finance and investor relations in the advertising and media verticals. She also has 10 years experience in managing and acquiring businesses for the world’s largest holding companies. At Interpublic Group she acted as Manager, Corporate Development (2004-2005), while at MDC partners she was SVP, Corporate Development (2005-2012), overseeing the acquisition of over 15 marketing services companies. Following that, Donna took on the role of VP, Finance & Operations at Omnicom’s Diversified Agency Services Group (2012-2013), managing a portfolio of global public relations and market research firms with combined revenues of over $1 billion. Most recently, Donna has acted as the VP, Corporate Finance & Investor Relations for Tribune Media (2013-2015).

Katy qualified as a Chartered Accountant at KPMG within the Information, Communication and Entertainment business unit. Since KPMG, Katy held senior financial roles within the media and marketing communications industry working across the direct marketing, sales promotion and TV post-production sectors. She then moved into the world of corporate finance, managing numerous successful sale transactions across PR, data, digital and brand consultancy disciplines, before becoming one of the founding partners of Green Square in 2008. Having left in 2011 to become a mother, she returned to the fold in 2014 as a consultant and is involved across a number of transactions as an integral part of the team.
SANDRA GRAHAM - RESEARCHER
SANDRA GRAHAM - RESEARCHER

Sandra has a wealth of M&A research experience gained over almost two decades, and prior to joining Green Square held the position of Head of Research for several M&A boutiques. Her focus is on providing high quality research to assist with all aspects of company disposals and acquisitions. Her specialist areas are Marketing & Communications, Technology and Business Services, providing detailed buyer and seller company research, background market research and M&A sector research. Sandra has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Information Management and became a member of the Chartered Institute of Library Information Professionals.

Debbie brings a wealth of client service, marketing and research experience to Green Square. Having worked both agency and client side in a range of industries she contributes extensive international client management expertise to the mix. As an economics graduate, Debbie started her career with direct marketing agency FKB. From there she moved to Compaq Computers to specialise in dealer marketing strategy and subsequently market research. Having gained wide experience at management consultancy Lloydmasters, she moved to Green Square in 2015.

James is a wearer of many hats, with experience in account management, business development, product management, content, corporate communications, sales, marketing, events and publishing. He co-founded the specialist online publishing and content business Metals Insider, subsequently selling it to Thompson Reuters six years later. Having started life as a specialist commodities trader in the city James’ experience outside investment banking includes digital publishing, technology, new business, social trends and content management. James joined Green Square in 2014.

Thomas has extensive operational experience in the technology and communications sectors, with leadership roles at First Telecom plc and the mobile operating systems provider Symbian. As CFO of Symbian Thomas played a crucial role in its growth and subsequent sale to Nokia and as CFO of Robert Walters plc he listed the business on the London Stock Exchange.He has a wealth of corporate finance knowledge, not only gained from his operational roles, but also having spent six years at investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort Benson. Thomas' success has been recognised through a number of accolades including the Queen's Award for Enterprise, on behalf of Symbian, and being awarded Accountancy Age Growing Business Finance Director of the Year. Thomas is a Chartered Accountant, having qualified at PwC, a Chartered Corporate Treasurer, and non-executive director at SPARK VCT plc. He joined the Advisory Board of Green Square in January 2011.

Iain’s career has spanned many international agency directorship roles and he brings a wealth of experience to Green Square and its clients. Following Euro RSCG’s acquisition of KLP Group plc, where Iain was MD, Iain took the role of CEO, Euro RSCG Worldwide in 1992, subsequently becoming Executive VP of Havas in 2003. In April 2006 he founded AIM listed Mission Marketing Group plc, a company he built organically and via acquisitions including Bray Leino and April Six. He left Mission in 2011 to pursue an advisory career and currently holds a number of agency non-exec Chairman roles, many in private equity backed businesses. His specialises in business strategy, operational management and M&A across the digital, data, creative and content landscape.

Since leaving University in 1985, Kevin has worked in a variety of areas, beginning with music retail.  From 1987 he worked as a journalist and editor, either as a staffer or freelance, on national and local newspapers and B2B and consumer magazines - specialities included music, retailing, food and drink, FMCG, tech, newspapers and magazine retailing and publishing, interviews and profiles, analysis pieces, reviews…pretty much anything that was thrown at him. He is proud to call himself a "hack" in the best sense of the word - someone who can deliver decently written copy quickly, on time and without fuss. Before joining Green Square in 2011 Kevin spent time in the world of advertising and marketing, first of all at Bauer and then in one of the country's biggest agencies, Ogilvy Group.

Phil has over thirty years of experience within the digital and design industry. Having founded typography specialists APT in the 1970s, he subsequently grew and sold the business before becoming MD of pioneering digital agency Realtime. Following the merger of the agency with direct marketing specialist EHS, he became Vice Chairman of the combined agency ehsrealtime (now EHS Brann). Since leaving the agency in 2004, Phil has held a range of non-executive and personal mentoring roles within the industry. He is also the founder of the perennially popular Podge lunches which play host to the leading lights of the design, digital and sports industries within the UK and beyond. A recipient of numerous accolades himself during his career, Phil is Chairman of the Judges at the DADI Awards. Phil joined the Advisory Board of Green Square in December 2009.

Ian is one of the UK’s leading entrepreneurs in the interactive entertainment market. In recognition of his stellar career in the computer games industry, he was awarded an OBE and holds a BAFTA Interactive Entertainment Award for his outstanding contribution to the community. He started his career by co-founding the manufacturer and retail chain Games Workshop, launching the Dungeons and Dragons products in Europe. Having authored a number of successful gaming publications, including the Dungeons and Dragons series, he moved into computer gaming, investing in Domark, one of the first UK computer games publishers. This company was later acquired by Eidos plc as the pillar of Eidos Interactive, where Ian secured both the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Hitman franchises. Ian is Life President of Eidos and holds a number of advisory roles to leading government and public bodies focused on the development of the computer gaming industry. He joined the Advisory Board of Green Square in January 2011.

Kit has more than 15 years experience in print services and presentation graphics, producing documents for a range of businesses in both London and Hong Kong, including investment banking (Merrill Lynch, Kleinwort Benson and Robert Fleming & Co) and management consultancy (KPMG). At KPMG, Kit managed the Corporate Finance Presentation team. Subsequently moving to Green Square where she oversees production of inspired, accurate, well thought-out printed and onscreen material including due diligence reports, information memorandums, talk books, proposals, presentations and PQQs.
GORDON CHRISTIANSEN - ADVISORY BOARD

Gordon has extensive leadership, management, marketing and sales experience across the business services and technology industries. Having started his career in sales for Canon UK, he subsequently became a director of a Singaporean shipping supplies firm followed by the MD role at ICC Credit (now D&B) before leading a VC backed MBO of business services company Colway Limited, which owns creative agency supplier London Graphic Centre (LGC). Whilst at LGC, Gordon got to know many creative agency heads, regularly helping them with business issues – both in a marketing and commercial context. Since exiting LGC Gordon has worked alongside management teams to develop and deliver strategies that realise value in their businesses.   Gordon has a strong commercial focus and an innate ability to work with people. His strengths lie in creating and driving strategy; leading from the front, and building motivated and engaged teams. He joined Green Square in 2015.

Chris is one of the world’s most experienced and highly regarded marketing services M&A professionals, having spent 25 years at board level with some of the most successful global agencies.   A Chartered Accountant, he spent 15 years in North America before returning to the UK to join FCB as Group Finance Director, subsequently heading up finance for Publicis’ Northern Europe.   In 2000 he joined Omnicom and became International CFO and Commercial Director of $7bn turnover DAS, Omnicom's largest division. DAS encompasses businesses including RAPP, Ketchum, Porter Novelli, Interbrand and Wolff Olins. Chris is responsible for a significant number of Omnicom’s successful global acquisitions and has unrivalled experience in acquiring and integrating agencies.   Chris joined Green Square in 2013 and works across our client portfolio. He remains extensively involved with the UK advertising industry trade bodies, is a council member of the IPA and a director of asbof.
